What works.

One page. No jargon. Green means tested and working. Red means it doesn't work and why. Amber means it's waiting on somebody. I keep this current, so if you ever wonder what we can actually do, look here.

Working

These are tested, not assumed.

Works

You can see every design I make

All of it is on this site. Nothing is hidden on my machine.

Tested. You've been opening these all night.

Works

We share one space in Claude Design

I put things in. You change them. I see your change.

Tested. You changed a word to BRAVO and I read it back.

Works

You can point at anything on a page

Open a page, tap the little amber label on any part of it, and it copies. Paste that into Discord and add what you want changed.

Tested. Works on a phone.

Works

I can see what I build

I take a picture of every page and look at it before showing you.

Tested. It's how I caught the wrong tick icon and a headline that contradicted itself.

Works

I can send you pictures here in Discord

So you don't have to open anything to see a change.

Tested.

Works

I can look up how other apps solve a problem

Real screens from real apps, not descriptions.

Tested. Used it for the parent dashboard research.

Works

I can make images and logos

Both by hand and by generating them.

Tested. All the logo work came from this.

Doesn't work

Things I tried that failed, and why. No point pretending.

No

Automatically checking the code stays on-brand

The idea was that a tool would warn us when someone used the wrong colour in the app.

The checker can't read the kind of files our app is made of, and the key rule it needs isn't built into it. Dead end for now.

No

Pencil, the sketching tool

I could use it to try lots of rough ideas quickly.

It needs you to log in once. Two minutes. Nothing else is blocking it.

No

Figma

You already have it. I could work in your files.

Not connected, and writing to it needs the $16 a month seat. Not worth it yet.

No

Asking Kira about the Tracy Harris review tool

You asked me to check whether they'd already built something similar.

The connection between us was refused. Either you ask her, or you tell me what it does.

Waiting on someone

Not broken. Just needs a decision or a permission.

Waiting

The waitlist page can't save anyone yet

The form works and looks right, but there's nowhere for the answers to go. I don't have permission to set up storage. Somebody with fuller access needs to switch it on, and then it works.

Waiting

Whether the business is already named

A 'Vision Home School' site appeared online last night. If that's decided, I'll stop suggesting names.

How we test something new

Same three steps every time.

1. I try it myself first and tell you what happened, including when it fails.

2. If it needs you, I give you one small thing to do, not a list. Like changing one word to BRAVO.

3. It goes on this page as green, red or amber, so neither of us has to remember.

The rule I hold myself to: nothing goes green because a website said it would work. It goes green because I ran it and watched it work.
